While the DPJ (Democratic Party of Japan) has more successfully promoted its election platform (manifesto), nine domestic organizations give it an average rating of only 52.7 versus a 46.6 for the LDP manifesto.
The opposition Democratic Party of Japan widened its lead over the ruling party ahead of the Aug. 30 general election, according to a poll conducted by Nikkei Inc. and TV Tokyo Corp.
An August 7 poll by Nikkei Inc. and TV Tokyo Corp. has 43% of respondents saying they intend to vote for the DPJ, up 3 percentage points from the previous survey, Support for the incumbent Liberal Democratic Party remained at 26%.
I have seen other polls over the weekend showing a much closer gap between the two. How much of a gap in the polls does the DPJ need?
